 A Brief History of Parma Christian Church
 
Our church through the years...
  •  First meeting on March 16, 1954.   Thirty-two people met and signed a petition to establish Parma Christian Church.
  • First worship was held at Thoreau Park School in Parma on December 5, 1954 with about 70 people present.
  • CWF and  CYF were organized in 1955.  Sunday School enrollment was 125.
  • Parma Christian Church was chartered on February 27, 1955.  $3000 was raised to purchase a 5- acre lot on Ridge Road for our future building.
  • We broke ground for our new church building on May 27, 1956.  The first unit, which cost $85,000, was dedicated on February 2, 1958.   Ground was broken for the second church unit on August 19, 1962.

  • Rev. Joseph Wilcox -- First full-time pastor 1956-1961
  • Rev. Ted Faulconer -- 1962-1969
  • Rev. Ken Coy -- 1970-1980
  • Rev. Dan Griggs -- 1980-1987
  • Rev. Rob McVicar -- 1988-1992
  • Rev. Reid Miller -- 1994-2001 (retired from full-time ministry in 2001)
  • Rev. Gene Carey -- 2002 to present
